H2O Campus Pastor

Position Description

H2OKids, the children’s ministry of H2O.Church, provides relevant, age-appropriate learning and connection opportunities for kids from birth to 6th grade. During all weekend worship experiences, mid-week experiences, and special kids’ events, the ministry for kids is provided and executed by a large base of volunteers led by the H2OKids Pastor. The H2OKids Pastor will work with the Campus Pastor to achieve the goals of H2O.Church. They will also be responsible for the specific goals related to a successful H2OKids ministry.

Duties and Responsibilities:

I. Grow campus attendance

• Create and implement a strategy that draws families into the church through H2OKids ministry.

• Create a presence of H2OKids ministry in the community.

• Minister to the families and aid in connecting what happens on the weekend with what happens at home.

• Track growth in alignment with the next steps from the Connections Pastor.

• Must ensure parents are consistently informed about schedules, events, and any changes or updates that affect their child’s participation. This communication should be done through printed materials, social media, or both – to give the best way to reach the families involved.


II. Lead and develop teams and volunteers

• Recruit and inspire people to serve in H2OKids ministry so they are operating in their strengths and being most effective in their roles on the H2OKids team.

• Make sure leaders are equipped to serve and rooms are set up for families to have an excellent experience.

• Connect with leaders weekly via phone calls or in person.

• Oversee volunteer orientation and training that includes appropriate placement of volunteers.


III. Oversee and organize H2OKids ministry

• Provide a great space for kids to connect with other kids and leaders.

• Enforce children’s ministry facility standards.

• Help develop and maintain all safety standards for H2OKids.

• Develop the Sunday and Wednesday experiences for birth through 6th grade.

• Oversee special event planning, including summer camps, H2OKids events and volunteer appreciation events.

• Be an advocate for connecting with parents and equipping them to be the leaders of their child’s spiritual development.

• Responsible for managing the social media presence related to H2OKids. This includes creating content, posting updates, and ensuring that all communications reflect the values and mission of the church.

• Driven to reach kids who do not know Christ

• Self-motivate, make independent decisions, and solve problems with innovation.

• Create a vision and execute effectively

• Comfortable with many diplomatic interactions.

• Clearly communicate information both written and visual.

• Effective conflict management, time management, and coaching skills.


II. Knowledge

• Clearly understand basic budget and fiscal management procedures.

• Strong working knowledge of Planning Center, office equipment, and software use.

• High School Diploma or GED

• 1 to 3 years of related work experience
